The goal of the department is to train students to become doctors who have an astute clinical sense, requisite latest medical knowledge and good clinical skills to serve the medical needs of our society and overall to develop a humane,sympathetic caring attitude and be a fit leader of the medical team.

  Postgraduate Teaching programme 
 
 

PG Residents undergo a rigorous training in the subject of medicine. They are encouraged to learn by self enquiry and take immediate independent bedside decisions and monitor treatment. The decisions are reviewed daily by a student faculty meet. Unit teaching activity includes daily ward rounds, emergency duties, performance of bed-side procedures. They maintain a log book of their records. They are registered to attend Neurology continuum Programme accredited by American Academy of Neurology. They regularly present cases and seminars in Pune chapter of API. They attend regional and national medical conferences.

  U. G. Teaching Programme
 
 

Undergraduate teaching consists of Theory Lectures and Clinical teaching. Clinical teaching is done in clinical demonstration rooms of wards and OPD. Seminars & tutorials are held in the final year.

Integrated teaching
Integrated teaching sessions are held along with other departments for complicated and important topics.

Continuous Performance Assessment Card
Continuous Performance Assessment cards are maintained for each student. Remedial Classes & Tutorials are held separately during vacation for weak students.

Mentorship
College also has a mentorship Programme, where each student is arranged a faculty member as a mentor when he or she joins college. 16 members of faculty are designated mentors.
