The Department of Psychiatry
was established in Dec. 1997, with the aim of
fulfilling the missions of Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil
Medical College, to provide quality medical education,
to provide service to the large population of
people suffering from mental & behavioral
disorders & also to participate in active
research in the field of Psychiatry.
Since then the Department has
made steady progress, when in the year 2000, the
Department was recognized by College of Physicians
& Surgeons, Mumbai for Postgraduate Diploma
course in Psychiatry & got the recognition
of Medical Council of India for Post Graduate
Degree & Diploma Courses in 2004. The Department
also runs other Value Added Courses like "
Clinical Orientation and Counseling Psychiatry".
In June 2006 the Department has been recognized
for Ph.D. in Psychiatry.
The Department now has a 30-bedded
well-run psychiatric center with qualified faculty
members, undergraduate & post graduate students
and provides high standard of medical care to
the needy patients in & around the area.

along with ECG & EEG monitor is used.
