The department of Radio-diagnosis and imaging started in the year 2000.

The department imparts training to the post-graduates, interns, and undergraduates, nursing students, physiotherapy students and dental students affiliated to the university.

Post-graduate training started in the year 2002.

Number of seats has increased from 2 MD and 2 DMRD in first batch to 4 MD and 2 DMRD in 2007.

Total number of Post Graduate students who have appeared - 6.

Total number of Post Graduate students who have passed - 6.

The faculty has won a total of 3 awards. The post-graduated students have won a total of 2 awards one each for best paper and poster in various conferences.

ACADEMIC ACHEIVMENTS:

A total of 16 research projects have been undertaken by the department.

Of this 8 have been completed and 8 are ongoing.

15 students have been admitted till date out of which 6 have successfully cleared their postgraduate examinations.

 

Training in conventional radiology includes radiography, darkroom technique, physics and special radiological procedures.

 

Ultrasound training encompasses use of Colour Doppler in addition to the routine real time grey scale examinations.

  Training in mammography, CT and MRI.
  Regular symposiums, journal clubs and seminars are held for the postgraduates.
 

Residents are encouraged to attend and present papers at various conferences and CMEs. Many of the residents have won prizes in paper and poster presentations, quizzes, etc.

 
     
  Undergraduate training:  
 
    

Undergraduate students have 20 theoretical lectures and 15 days practical attachment to the department as part of the MBBS training programme.
