:: DEPARTMENTS / Department of TB & Respiratory Diseases

  INTRODUCTION TO THE DEPARTMENT

The dept of chest diseases is an important integral part of this dynamic institution right from inception. With whole hearted participation in the activities of the parent institution this department maintained low profile until 2000 when college of physicians & surgeons of Mumbai recognized the posts of our department for diploma in chest diseases.

The achievements acquired newer heights when Medical Council of India acknowledged the quality of services and teaching by recognizing the post Graduate degree (MD Chest & TB) and diploma (DTCD) in 2004.

The recognition by MCI proved to be boon to the department. The dynamism acquired new dimensions. The spectrum of activities ranges from the innovative research with pioneering ideas, quality medical education and medical services with a zeal and extension to the remotest needy patients of the society.

The following details give an ample evidence of foresight, implementation and coordination of the departmental personnel, one and all, in their Endeavour to shoulder the responsibility and congeniality.

Needless to say the affectionate encouraging guidance from the hierarchy empowers us to perform relentless work with pleasure.
